The solution is simple. The Colleges must implement the recommendations of the Workload Task Force, recommendations that they themselves unanimously agreed to.
Faculty members know that these issues must be addressed, and contract language put in place, to protect quality education in Ontario. Faculty members want this to happen without any dispute that will adversely affect students.
If negotiations fail to produce the needed changes in our college system, faculty members are pressing the Colleges to send all unresolved issues to binding arbitration. Arbitration is fair to both parties. It will prevent any labour dispute from interrupting the students’ school year.
Ensuring quality education in our college system not only benefits students, but Ontario as well. Given the tools, college faculty can make that happen.
